Purpose: Mandibular coronoid process hyperplasia (MKPH) is defined as a normal bone extension, characterized by limitation in mouth opening. The limits and measurement techniques of the term hyperplasia in literature are not clearly determined. Therefore, the purpose of our study is to evaluate the sizes of condylin and coronoid processes in the KIBT images, to determine the coronoid processes and condyl ratio. Tools and Methods: In the study, KIBT images taken for different reasons were assessed as retrospective for 154 patients aged 18 and over. In Sagittal cuts, height measurements were made from the height point of the cord and coronoid in parallel direction to the place passing from the point of the sigmoid cord. Also the length between the coronate procesintepe point and the zigomatic bottom point was measured in the coronate cut. The coronoid process and condyline are identified. The data was evaluated statistically with identifying statistics and the t test. Results: 6 patients with MKPH detected were dismissed and a total of 148 patients (81 women, 67 men, average age±SS; 37.66±14.32 years) were included in the study. The patient's right coronate height average was 16.70±0.22 mm, the left coronate height average was 16.99±0.22 mm, the right coronate height average was 11.41±0.23 mm, the left coronate height average was 11.91±0.24 mm. The average coronavirus height in men was higher than in women (p=0.00). The coronoid processin's condile ratio was found at 0.70±0.01 on the right side at 0.72±0.01 on the left side. In a total of 18 patients, the condile rate of coronoid procesin, bilateral and unilateral in 5 patients, was greater than 1. The result: In our study, the coronavirus and coronavirus height average was more found in men than in women. In literature, there is no sufficient knowledge about the average length of the coronoid processes and a clear method for the diagnosis of MKPH. In various and larger populations, tri-dimensional assessment is needed using objective measurement methods.
