Abstract:

This research was conducted with the aim of determining the free writing attitudes of the teacher candidates regarding writing and how they are affected by a number of variables. In the study, teachers’ free writing attitudes were studied in terms of gender, parental level of education, the number of books they read in the last year and the variables of the section. The research is organized within the scan model in the framework of the quantum research approach. The sample of the study is determined by random sampling method and consists of 142 teachers candidates studying at the Faculty of Education of the University of Amasya. With the aim of obtaining data in the research, the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher and developed by Separator and CleanTurk (2017) implemented the "Education Faculty Student's Free Writing Attitudes Scale". In the analysis of the data, the arithmetic average, standard deviation, frequency, percentage, t-test, one-way variance (ANOVA) and Kruskal Wallis-H test were used. The study found that the attitude towards free writing significantly differs according to the number of books that teachers candidates read within a year and the section they study.
