Abstract:

Many methods are applied to improve the levels of reading and understanding of students with reading difficulties. One of these methods is music education. When the field is studied in the summer, it is found that children who receive music education have a good level of skills in word-coding, word-recognition, understanding what they read and self-expression. In this context, the study is similar to the work reading studies in the framework of the basic music education that encourages the fields of code-solving, word recognition, reading and self-expression in the left hemisphere and fluid reading techniques. This study prepared taking into account the student's dominant musical intelligence is in line with the individualized educational program as it motivates the student to read. This study aims to use audio, rhythm and work reading studies that are included in the framework of basic music education in the development of the reading levels of dislexic students who have musical intelligence overwhelming. Study is a situation study within the framework of the quality research method. As a whole work plan, a single condition plan is implemented. Three students who have difficulty reading in the study used the measurement sampling method from the purposes of sampling methods were identified and the level of reading and understanding of students was identified by applying the Error Analysis Reserve. Later, these students were chosen to be a student with musical intelligence overwhelming, by applying the TIMI Multiple Intelligence Inventory and studying in the 3rd class. The music training, which covers eight weeks, is completed in a total of 24 hours of lessons. At the end of the training, the erroneous analysis inventory was reapplicated and observed that the dislexic student's reading and understanding level increased; the student's level of word recognition and understanding was found to rise from the "depressive level" to the "learning level".
