There is a strong relationship between language and culture. Language is an element of culture as well as its most important carrier. Thus, language can be seen as a tool which allows transfer of cultural elements to future generations. Language also allows determination of spiritual characteristics and perceptions of nations. Language includes each and every thing that the culture has. There are certain words people use in their daily interactions which had become traditional as the ages pass. These words are called words of social interaction or social interaction word patterns. There are many word patterns for different occasions, such as those uttered to people who just had a baby, people with health issues, people who just lost a loved one, people who are working, people who go abroad or return from a long journey, people who eat, people who just bought a new house/car and people who meet each other etc. Turkish word patterns are numerous and richer when compared to those in other languages. Researchers have tried to explain the reason for this by noting that human interaction in Turkish society consists of closer relationships. When we examine these sentence patterns that people use in certain situations, we see social values like kindness and respect towards ones fellow men, humility and Turkish peoples perception of the outside world. Based on this statement, this study identifies certain social interaction word patterns in Turkish translations of the Manas Epic. Literary texts are forms of arts which provides us with all the subtle elegance of the language. Thus, they play a very important role transferring a nations culture to new generations. When Manas Epic, which almost a mirror of Turks of Kirghiz origin is examined, it can be seen that the language itself is indeed very rich in interaction words.
