Abstract:

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to assess the cytotoxicity of the three different adhesive resin symbols that can be self-connected used in the clinic. Tools and Methods: In our work we have prepared cylindrical shape (2x5mm) adhesive resin seman test samples taking into account the recommendations of the manufacturer company ICEM (Heraeus Kulzer, Hanau, Germany), Nova Resin (Imicryl, Konya, Turkey) and Clearfil SA Cement (Kuraray, Reading, Japan). The cells obtained from the cattle pulp (Clonal SV40) were placed in the 96-cut cell culture plates, and 20% fetal cattle serum, 5% penicillin/streptomycin, 1% genesis MEM Alpha (Gibco Invitrogen) were encubated in a 5% CO2 environment at 37°C for 24 hours. The test samples were kept 24 hours in the prepared nutritional environment and the extract was applied on the cells. The cells that were exposed to the non-extracted nutritional environment of the test material were accepted as a negative control group. The cell vitality was evaluated by enzyme activity at the end of 24 hours of treatment. The data was analyzed with one-way ANOVA. Results: There was no statistically meaningful difference between ICEM, Clearfil SA and Nova Resin siman groups’ vitality ratio and negative control group’s cell vitality ratio (p>0.05). At the same time, when compared to each other, there was no statistically significant difference between the groups (p>0.05). Result: In this in vitro study, it was found that self-connected adhesive resin semans tested on two-dimensional cattle dental pulp cells had no significant cytotoxic effect.
