Abstract:

In this study, the commercial entomopathogenic nematod species Steinernema feltiae Filipjev and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora Poinar were aimed at determining the effects of Leptinotarsa decemlineata on the fourth larva and individuals in adolescence, which caused significant economic losses in the 1976 potato production fields. Two entomopathogenic nematodins were prepared in 3 different doses (100, 150, 200 million infectious juvenil (IJs)/ 100 L of water) and the trials were conducted in 10 wheels, including 5 persons in each wheel for each dose according to the random parcel test pattern in laboratory conditions. Entomopathogenic nematod suspensions are applied by the spray method for 20 seconds under 1 atmospheric pressure for both development periods of potato insects. In the fourth larva period, the doses of application in both entomopathogen nematod types differ from control but there is no difference between each other, and in adolescence there is no difference between both control and application doses. Furthermore, the death rates caused by the fourth larva period of potato insects of Steinernema feltiae and H. bacteriophora were found between 64-82 percent and 20-60 percent, respectively. In adult individuals, for entomopathogenic nematodes, these rates remained between 12-24 percent and 2-10 percent, respectively.
