Abstract:

The aim of this study is to obtain the opinions of students and staff on Medical Terminology, which is necessary to track and communicate the developments in medical platforms. The study included 347 students studying at the University of Uludağ Health Services Professional High School and 74 staff working in the various units of the Medical School Hospital. The data is obtained through survey forms containing Likert type scale. In terms of the need for the course of medical terminology, students and employees pointed out that medical terminology is necessary for their professions (respectively 74.2 percent, 79.7 percent). Both the study group and the working group pointed out that they saw the benefits of the medical terminology course in the internship or professional life (59.9%, 71.6%). In addition, 41.9 per cent of employees said they sometimes had difficulty reading medical materials and 56.7 per cent said they received help from other employees. In light of all these data, you believe that the feedback obtained and evaluated from the survey study is important for the continuation of the Medical Terminology course and the development of the curriculum.
