Abstract:

Except for previous surgery, there are various risk factors for Ileus. These can be considered as movement restrictions, colorectal cancers, some other intestinal diseases, poor nutrition from fiber foods and the use of some medications. Opioid analgesics, tricyctic antidepressants, antihistaminics and antipsychotic drugs can develop. Bipolar disorder diagnosis followed for about thirty years, a 54-year-old male patient, who had been 5 days with stomach pain, swelling in the stomach, nausea and vomiting complaints. Following the tests and examinations, the patient was considered to have a paralytic ileus table associated with the use of olanzapin. The patient was operated without medical treatment. The treatment of pre-operative neostigmin continued in the postoperative period and the patient was dismissed without problems on the 12th day. In the treatment of paralytic cystitis associated with the use of antipsychotic drugs, medical treatments are recommended in the first place, but in some cases the timing is important in the prevention of morbidity and mortality that may develop a proper surgery.
