Abstract:

The aim of the study is to examine the postgraduate theses written in our country in the field of assessment and evaluation in primary school between 2003 and 2020, and to deal with them from a holistic perspective. Document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The sample of the research is; It constitutes 56 postgraduate theses, which are accessible from 61 theses related to the subject area of measurement and evaluation in primary school, which are available in the thesis database of the Council of Higher Education. As a data collection tool in the study; There was a form consisting of 8 questions developed by the researcher to determine the years, types, universities, publication languages, research methods, study group/sample characteristics, data collection tools, and data analysis types. The results of the study, in which the data were analyzed with the content analysis technique, are as follows: Among the examined theses, the most master's thesis was written, the most thesis was written was Marmara University, the language of the theses was mostly Turkish, the most quantitative method was used as the method, working with a maximum of 101-500 study groups/sample, the most used data collection tool is questionnaire, and the most used data analysis types are respectively; frequency-percentage, t-test and one-way analysis of variance (anova) were found. Since no similar research has been found in the field of measurement and evaluation at primary school level, it may be recommended to include more similar studies in the subject area.
