Abstract:

Karacaşehir Village Mosque, located on the edges of Karacahisar Castle, one of the important settlements of early Ottoman archaeology, is a square-planned, two-foot balcony shape of a female shelf, a simple, untouched half apartment has a shelf and a single minarel. The most remarkable architectural data of this small-scale mosque is the collapse ceiling of the harm and the cube cover of the minarets. Although the architectural characteristics of the building and information in historical sources cannot lower its history until the establishment of the Ottoman State, Karacaşehir Cami is considered the place where the first hutben was read. The main reason for this is the perception that Karacahisar Castle and Karacaşehir settlement are the same place. Though the recent years of excavations, studies and publications have not confirmed this, the various events here show that a tradition has already been invented for this structure, which is important in terms of social memory.
