Bu çalışma, ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin matematik öğrenmeye yönelik motivasyonlarını ölçen geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı geliştirmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Ölçek geliştirme sürecinde, öncelikle literatür taraması yapılarak ve motivasyona yönelik öğrenci ve öğretmen görüşleri alınarak 5’li Likert-tipi katılma derecesine göre bir taslak ölçek hazırlanmıştır. Hazırlanan ölçeğin içerik geçerliliği için uzman görüşleri alınmıştır. Uzmanların görüşleri doğrultusunda yapılan değişikliklerden sonra ölçek 67 ilkokul 4. Sınıf öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Bu uygulama sonunda 50 maddelik bir aday ölçek geliştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen bu ölçek 276 ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler üzerinde açımlayıcı faktör analizi ve Varimax yöntemleri ile döndürülmüş temel bileşenler analizi yapılmıştır. Analiz sonuçları ölçeğin, toplam varyansın %51,928’ini açıklayan beş faktöre ve 32 maddeye sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca güvenirlik katsayısının Cronbach Alfa 0,91 olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar, ölçeğin yeterli derece geçerli ve güvenilir olduğunu göstermektedir.
This study was carried out to develop a valid and reliable measurement instrument measuring the motivations of elementary education 4th grade students related to learning mathematics. During the scale development process, literature was primarily reviewed, student and teacher views related to motivation were asked for, and a draft scale was prepared according to 5-point Likert-type agreement level. After the changes performed in accordance with the views of experts, the scale was administered to 67 elementary education 4th grade students. As result of this practice, a 50-item candidate scale was developed. This developed scale was performed to 276 elementary education 4th grade students. Exploratory factor analysis, Varimax methods and rotated principal component analysis were employed on obtained data. The analysis results revealed that the scale had five factors and 32 items explaining the 51.928% of total variance. Moreover, the reliability coefficient Cronbach Alpha was determined to be 0.91. These results proved that the scale was adequately valid and reliable
