ÖZ Amaç: Bu çalışmada ameliyathane hemşirelerinin perspektifinden ameliyathanede çalışmanın nasıl olduğunun anlaşılması amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemiyle, Aralık 2018-Ocak 2019 tarihleri arasında bir eğitim ve araştırma hastanesinde çalışan, gönüllü dokuz ameliyathane hemşiresi ile yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak, her bir katılımcı ile yaklaşık otuz dakika süren yüz yüze derinlemesine görüşmeler ile yapılmıştır. Görüşmeler esnasında, önceden izin alınarak ses kayıtları tutulmuş, elde edilen veriler NVivo 10 programı kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Bulgular: Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, hemşirelerin ifadeleri beş alt tema altında toplanmıştır. Bunlar; ameliyathanede çalışmanın olumsuz yanları, ameliyathane çalışmanın olumlu yanları, mesleki becerilerin günlük hayata etkisi, mesleki gelecek ve beklentilerdir. Bu temalar daha sonra kategorilere ayrılmıştır. Bunlar; ameliyathanede çalışmanın olumsuz yanları temasında altı kategori; kapalı ortam, asosyallik, yanlış beslenme, mesleki eğitimlere katılamama, sessizlik, riskler, ameliyathanede çalışmanın olumlu yanları temasında dört kategori; stres yönetimi, kendini değerli görme, kişisel gelişim, hasta/hasta yakını ile ilişkiden uzak olma, mesleki becerilerin günlük hayata etkisi temasında dört kategori; normalleştirme, empati, duyarsızlaşma, kendiyle özdeşleştirme, mesleki gelecek temasında üç kategori; mesleki gelişim, farklı meslekte devam etme, kariyer planı yapamama, beklentiler temasında beş kategori; fiziksel ortam, iletişim, güvenlik, motivasyon, çalışan sayısı olarak belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Ameliyathanede çalışmanın hemşireler üzerinde birçok fayda sağladığı; öte yandan ameliyathanede çalışmanın doğurduğu olumsuzlukların çalışan ve hasta güvenliği açısından risk olarak değerlendirilmesi gerektiği kanısına varılmıştır.
ABSTRACT Aim: In this study, it was aimed at understanding how operating in the operating room is from the perspective of the operating room nurses. Methods: The study was conducted with qualitative research method, using a semi-structured interview form with nine voluntary operating nurses working in a training and research hospital between December 2018 and January 2019, with in-depth interviews with each participant that lasted about thirty minutes. During the interviews, sound recordings were kept with prior permission, and the data obtained were analyzed using the NVivo 10 program. Results: According to the results obtained from the study, the statements of the nurses were collected under five sub-themes. These; The negative aspects of working in the operating room, the positive aspects of operating the operating room, the effect of professional skills on daily life, professional future and expectations. These topics were later categorized. These; six categories on the theme of the negative aspects of working in the operating room; four categories on the theme of indoor environment, socialism, malnutrition, inability to participate in vocational training, silence, risks, positive aspects of working in the operating room; four categories on the theme of stress management, self-worth, personal development, being away from the relationship with the patient / patient relatives, the effect of professional skills on daily life; three categories on the theme of normalization, empathy, desensitization, self-identification, professional future; five categories in terms of professional development, pursuing a different profession, not being able to plan a career, expectations; physical environment, communication, security, motivation, number of employees.Conclusion: Working in the operating room has many benefits for nurses; On the other hand, it was concluded that the negativities caused by working in the operating room should be considered as a risk for employee and patient safety.
