Özet:

The aim of the study was to examine the reflections of the relationship between education faculties and directorates of national education on the education of in-service teachers in Eastern Anatolia and academic studies of academics. Case study method was used in the study. Data were acquired in the study via semi-structured interviews. Two semi-structured interview forms were prepared since the participants were part of two different groups as teachers and academics. Data acquired from the interviews were subject to content analysis. The participants of this study were comprised of eight academics working at the Science Education, Mathematics Education, Social Sciences Education and Turkish Education departments of the education faculty at a state university in Eastern Anatolia and eight teachers working in these disciplines as part of the directorate of national education in the city where this university is located. It was determined as a result of the study that there was almost weak cooperatıon between the education faculty at the province where the study was carried out and the related directorates of national education except the field of pre-service teacher education in term of communication. The other result of the study that the academic studies are not carried into practice thanks to lack of communication between education faculties and directorates of national education, because, the academic studies are not evaluated together.
