Abstract:

Evaluation of the financial performance of the enterprises is important in terms of continuity of profitability, ensuring competitive advantage and ensuring the continuity of the activities of the enterprises. Financial performance evaluation is a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem. In this study, the financial performance ratios of eight accommodation businesses traded in BIST, calculated with the 2022 consolidated financial statement data obtained from the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), are based. The financial performances of 9 accommodation businesses traded in BIST were evaluated by the Simultaneous Evaluation of Criteria and Alternatives SECA (Simultaneous Evaluation of Criteria and Alternatives) Method, one of the MCDM methods. The criteria were determined by literature review. The SECA method was used both to determine the weights of the criteria and to rank the alternatives according to their performance. With the study, the criterion with the highest degree of importance was the K1 criterion. A2 accommodation business took the first place in the financial performance ranking. It is aimed to contribute to the literature with the method used. As a result of the analysis, the criterion with the highest importance with criterion weighting was 'liquidity', while the lowest criterion was 'net profit for the period'.
