Sosyal Bilgiler Ders Kitaplarının ve Öğretim Programlarının Çocukların Güvenli İnternet Kullanımları Açısından İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Bu çalışmada ilkokul 4 ve ortaokul 5. sınıf sosyal bilgiler ders kitapları ve öğretim programlarının, çocukların güvenli internet kullanımları açısından incelenmesi amaçlamıştır. Bu nedenle çalışma, nitel araştırma yaklaşımlarından olan durum çalışmasından yola çıkılarak hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmanın veri kaynağını ilkokul 4 ve ortaokul 5. sınıf sosyal bilgiler ders kitapları ile ilgili kademelerin Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi Öğretim Programı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verilerinin çözümlenmesinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularından elde edilen sonuçlara göre ilkokul 4. sınıf sosyal bilgiler ders kitabı ve öğretim programında çocukların sanal ortamlarda karşılaşabilecekleri risklere karşı güvenli internet kullanımlarıyla doğrudan ilişkili olacak şekilde herhangi bir içerik tespit edilememiştir. Ortaokul 5. sınıf sosyal bilgiler ders kitabında ise öğrencilerin sanal ortamda karşılaşabilecekleri risklere karşı güvenli internet kullanımlarına ilişkin içeriklerin dört farklı tema kapsamında sunulduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu temalar ‘İçerik Riskleri’, ‘Ticari Riskler’, ‘İletişim Riskleri’ ve ‘Sağlık Riskleri’ olarak sıralanmaktadır.

Abstract:

This study aimed at the study of primary 4th and secondary 5th class social information curricula and teaching programs in terms of children’s secure internet use. Therefore, the study is prepared by starting from the status study of the quality research approaches. The data source of the research is the Primary School 4 and Secondary School 5th Class Social Information Curriculum related stages of Social Information Curriculum. The method of content analysis was used in the analysis of research data. According to the results of the study, the first four. Class social information has not been identified in the curriculum and the curriculum in such a way that it is directly related to secure internet use against the risks that children may encounter in virtual environments. In the 5th class social information curriculum, the conclusion was that the contents related to secure internet use against the risks that students may encounter in the virtual environment are presented within four different topics. These topics are classified as ‘Content Risks’, ‘Commercial Risks’, ‘Communication Risks’ and ‘Health Risks’.

In this study, it is aimed to examine the social sciences textbooks and the syllabi of the elementary school 4th grade and the secondary school 5th grade for children’s safe internet use. Therefore, the research was prepared based on the case study, which is a qualitative method. The data source of the research is the 4th and the 5th grade social sciences textbooks and syllabi. In the data analysis, content analysis method was utilized. According to the results obtained from the research findings, no contents directly related to children’s safe internet use against the possible risks in virtual environments have been found in the 4th grade social sciences textbook and syllabus. On the other hand, the aforementioned contents have been identified in the 5th grade social sciences textbook and syllabus within four different themes, which are ‘Content Risks’, ‘Commercial Risks’, ‘Communication Risks’, and ‘Health Risks’.
