Abstract:

Purpose:The purpose of this study was to show the anatomical and morphological changes in the post-Osteotomy of the Le Fort 1 sinuses with the KIBT (Conic Wireless Computer Tomography). Tools and Methods:April 2015-November 2017 Le Fort I osteotomy was performed and 32 patients were included in the study with KIBT scans available 3 to 12 months before the operation and after the procedure. The type of planned surgery was dependent on the specific deformity of each patient. Before and after surgery, the right and left axis were measured using a 3-dimensional software with volumetric analyses of the sinus ventilation volumes. Also, the type of maxillophasial deformity and the presence of septa were recorded separately for each patient. Identifying statistics for each variable were calculated and combined analyses were used to compare pre/postoperative values. Results: 32 data of the adult (17 women, 15 men) (the average age is 26.40±7.54; the average tracking time is 5.25 months) were studied. Patients had a variety of maxillophasial deformities (8 patients class II, 24 patients class III). In 27 patients before the operation, the right or left scalp was found in the sinus with septa formation. The postoperative left maxs have a 25.01 % reduction in sinus ventilation volume; the right maxs have a 18.01 % reduction in sinus ventilation volume. The decline in the volume of sinus ventilation in both the right and the left axis after the surgery was statistically significant (p<0.05). Results:The results of the study indicate that Le Fort I osteotomy has a significant effect on the sinus health. In these patients, postoperative radiological findings of the inflammatory processes of the sinus indicate the usefulness of the routine use of KIBT scans in the patient's tracking.  Keywords: KIBT, Orthogenic Surgery, Sinus Volume
