Film yapımcılığı sektöründe çeviri işi denildiğinde daha çok film, dizi ve diğer yapımların alt yazılarının çevirisi akla gelmektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında incelenecek olan film terimleri ise film yapım ve çekim ekiplerine çeviri hizmeti sunan çeviri işletmeleri ya da medya şirketleri gibi iş ortamlarında çevirmenlerin görev aldığı ve film yapım süreçlerinde dil desteği sağlamak amaçlı alana ait terminoloji bilgisiyle yazılı veya sözlü olarak yapıldığı çeviri işidir. Çalışmanın amacı, film yapım ve çekim teknikleriyle ilgili özel alan metinlerinin ve bu metinlerde geçen terimlerin çevirisinde yapay zekâ uygulaması olan Deepl Translate kullanıldığında elde edilen çevirileri alıcı kitle odağında detaylı bir şekilde incelemektir. Çalışmanın kuramsal zemininde Toury’nin (1995) erek odaklı çeviriye dair görüşleri ve Venuti’nin (1995) “yabancılaştırma” ve “yerlileştirme” stratejileri üzerine görüşleri bulunmaktadır. Toury ve Venuti bu görüşlerini ortaya atarken yapılan çevirilerin kaynak metin normlarına ve kültürüne ya da erek metin normlarına ve kültürüne yakınlık derecesine göre inceledikten sonra bu konuyla ilgili içeriği yakın olan farklı kavramlarla kuramsal değerlendirmeler yapmışlardır. Metodolojik temelde nitel analizler içeren karşılaştırmalı bir durum çalışması yapılmıştır. Yapay zekâ destekli makine çevirileri ile yapılabilecek benzer ya da farklı özel alan metinlerinin çevirileri için bir nevi deneysel araştırma zemini hazırlanması hedeflemiş olan bu çalışmanın sonucunda bulgular sınıflandırılarak ve örneklerle somutlaştırılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Film terimlerinden seçilen örneklerin çevirileri, çalışmada görsel açıdan daha net görülecek biçimde tablo haline getirildikten sonra, aynen yansıtılarak veriler saydamlaştırılmış ve çalışmanın nesnelliği korunmuştur.
In the film production industry, translation work mostly refers to the translation of subtitles for movies, TV series and other productions. Film terms, which will be examined within the scope of this study, are translation work in which translators are employed in business environments such as translation businesses or media companies that provide translation services to film production and shooting teams, and written or oral translation work is carried out with the terminological knowledge about the field to provide language support in film production processes. The aim of the study is to examine in detail the translations obtained when Deepl Translate, an artificial intelligence application, is used in the translation of specialized field terms related to film production and shooting techniques in the focus of the target audience. The theoretical background of the study is based on Toury's (1995) views on target-oriented translation and Venuti's (1995) views on "foreignization" and "domestication" strategies. Toury and Venuti, in putting forward their views, analyzed the translations according to the degree of closeness to the norms and culture of the source text or the norms and culture of the target text, and then made theoretical evaluations with different concepts that are close in content. The methodological basis is a comparative case study with qualitative analysis. As a result of this study, which aims to prepare a kind of experimental research ground for translations of similar or different specialized field texts that can be done with artificial intelligence-supported machine translations; the findings have been categorized and evaluated by concretizing them with examples. After the translations of the selected examples of film terms have been shown in tables in a way that will be visually clearer in the study, the data have been made transparent and the objectivity of the study has been preserved.
