Abstract:

Purpose: Typ 1 neurophibromatosis (NF-1), which is an autosomal dominant hereditary disease, goes with neurological findings and skeletal dysplays. A rare pathology is the well-known condition of an anterior cervical meningoselle NF-1. Chiari type 1 malformation (NF-1) is a disease that is likely developing due to mesodermal insufficiency that occurs during the embryonic period and often causes siringomyelia. CM-1 can also be found along with NF-1. However, in the literature there is no fact that these four pathologies are seen together. A 45-year-old woman with a well-known NF-1 story has been presented. In the throat image for the multinodular guatr examination, the anterior throat meningosel was detected. The brain and all the spinal magnetic resonance images (MRG) showed the presence of CM-1 and siringomy. Although there was no neurological discovery in the patient, a CM-1 and siringomyel surgery was recommended due to the extent of the siringomyel. The patient did not accept it. Results: Neurophibromatosis type 1, CM-1/siringomyal complex or anterior cervical meningosis may be observed in conjunction, but no phenomenon has been in the literature that these four pathologies are observed in conjunction. This phenomenon reminds us that although there is no neurological findings, the NF-1 phenomena should be studied in terms of brain and spinal pathologies.
