Abstract:

In this research, graduate theses were examined within the framework of different themes by meta synthesis method in Turkey with the flipped learning model in science education. A total of 23 postgraduate thesis including 19 master's thesis and 4 doctoral dissertations, written with qualitative, quantitative, and mixed research methods were analyzed. YÖK national thesis center database was used in the collection of the postgraduate theses to be examined. The data from the theses in terms of which years the studies on flipped learning model in science education were carried out, what their aims were, which research designs were used, who the study groups were, which science subjects were covered, which data collection tool was used, which applications were included in the study, how long the studies lasted, what results were obtained were examined. Categories and graduate theses, which are examined in order to ensure the validity and reliability of the study, are provided in discussions in weekly by the authors, doctoral students and science education expert. While analyzing the studies, tables and graphics were used. In view of the results of analyzes, it is seen that studies have increased after 2015. It is mostly encountered with mixed research method. Studies with 8th grade students are intensified. Edpuzzle and WhatsApp are the most used applications for the students to reach students the videos in the studies. Data collection tools frequently encountered in studies academic achievement tests and students’ views. In the studies, the application period is often seen as 6 weeks.
