Abstract:

This study examined the views and attitudes of teachers candidates for the Google Classroom digital platform used in the 2019-2020 distance learning-learning process carried out due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The study used a mixed research method in which qualitative and quantitative research methods were used together. The data was obtained from a total of 119 bachelor students who studied in the primary mathematics teaching department of an university located in the eastern Anadolu region. As a data collection tool, a 35-matter attitude scale for distance learning developed for teachers candidates and a semi-configured view form for the Google Classroom developed by the researcher have been used. The data collected was analyzed with the help of the SPSS package program and content analysis. In light of the findings obtained, it has been shown that gender and class connector from the determined variables have created a statistically meaningful difference over the UZEM attitude scale. Nevertheless, the work status in a job, the environment in which they participate, or the monthly income level of the family, has not been shown to make a statistically meaningful difference over the UZEM attitude scale. Thus, thoughts and recommendations have been taken to Google Classroom and UZEM, which teachers candidates actively use in the distance learning process. The findings indicate that Google Classroom is an effective application, but it is more ideal for training courses and remains insufficient in field courses. There are also a number of recommendations for this application to be supported by a live course and to not require re-access to the internet once it is opened.
