Ministrel, which is pronounced as shaman, baksı, kam, bahısı that are of Central Asian origin and which is also a tradition of singing poems with kopuz or percussion instruments, keeps its continuity from past to present. The poets who write poetry with the scale of the syllable which is the national standard of the Turkish nation have represented the voice of folk by by handling the topics chosen from the society life with a plain, understandable and fluent language in oral tradition. In the study, the life of Sevim Emir whose pen name is "Karagünlü" and who is awarded as a "Living Folk Poet" by the Ministry of Culture, and her literary personality and the place of her in the tradition of Turkish popular poet singers was determined. Emir, whose poems we try to evaluate in terms of form, language and expression, is an important female poet who grew up in Malatya. Sevim Emir who was raised beside his father, Turkish popular poet singer Ali Balı, had a comprehensive knowledge of folk poetry and wrote striking poems with the scale of syllable. Emir, who draws attention with his poems in almost every subject from nature, tasawwuf, touched on human and social affairs and generally focused on nature and human love. The Emir, who grew up around the Alevi-Bektashi tradition, wrote religious poetry with the inspiration and advance from his father. Sevim Emir, a folk poet with the pen name of Karagunlü, is a personality that must be studied in order to determine the social life of female poets and their main voices.
