Abstract:

In addition to the obtaining of a large number of new data on deaths related to electricity flow every day, it is especially focused on the incidents of suicide by electricity flow by setting different arrangements. Our case is a 58-year-old man who took the story of psychiatric illness that committed suicide by electricity by setting a special arrangement in his home environment and had previously failed suicide attempt. In the scene of the incident, the foot arm and the left arm were connected with a bakery electric cable and there were suicide letters. In the external examination, electrical burning injury, non-specific changes in the internal examination, microscopic examination, the separation in the epidermis of the skin, the extension in the keratinosite nucleus and the direction to one side, the changes in the electric flow, such as necrosis in the skin and hyperemia, were observed. No toxic substances were detected in the body. The death was as a result of the electricity flow from the body. Our case has been discussed by assessing the medical characteristics of suicides related to electricity.
