Amaç: Bu çalışma hemşirelerin tamamlayıcı ve bütünleştirici bakım uygulamalarını bilme ve kullanma durumlarının belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipte gerçekleştirilen çalışmanın evrenini 204, örneklemini ise dahil edilme kriterlerini karşılayan 141 hemşire oluşturmuştur. Veriler üç bölümden oluşan soru formu ile toplanmıştır. Veri analizi sıklık, ortalama, standart sapma ve ki-kare testleri ile yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre hemşirelerin %44’ü tamamlayıcı ve bütünleştirici bakım uygulamalarını kullanmaktadır. En fazla bitkisel yöntemler (%22.7), masaj (%15.6) ve vitamin (%18.4) kullanılmaktadır. Hemşirelerin %22’si uygulamaları bağışıklığı güçlendirmek ve cilt bakımı amaçlı kullanmakta, %50.4’ü kullandığı yöntemi yararlı bulmakta, %44.3’ü medikal tedavi ile etkileşimi bilmemekte, %59.5’i kullandığı yöntem ile ilgili sağlık çalışanlarına bilgi vermemektedir. Katılımcıların konu ile ilgili formal (%92.2) ya da mezuniyet sonrası (%98.6) eğitim/kurs almadığı, %67.4’ü eğitimin gerekli olduğunu, %74.5’i hastalardan soru geldiğini, %80.9’u hastaların tamamlayıcı ve bütünleştirici bakım uygulamalarını kullanma durumunu sorgulamadığını belirtmiştir. Uygulama kullanımı ile yaş, çalışma süresi, eğitim düzeyi ve anamnezde sorgulama arasında anlamlı fark bulunmamıştır (p>0.05). Hemşirelerin çalıştığı klinik ile uygulamaları sorgulama durumu arasındaki fark karşılaştırıldığında, uygulamaları sorgulayan hemşirelerin %51.9’unun dahili kliniklerde çalıştığı belirlenmiştir (p<0.05). Sonuç: Hemşirelerin yarısına yakını tamamlayıcı ve bütünleştirici bakım uygulamalarını kullanmakta olup, bitkisel ürünler, vitaminler ve masajın kullanımı ilk sıralarda yer almaktadır. Hemşirelerin tamamına yakını bu uygulamalar hakkında yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadığını, büyük çoğunluğu bu uygulamaların kullanımını anamnezde sorgulamadığını belirtmiştir. En iyi hasta çıktılarının sağlanabilmesi için hemşirelerin tamamlayıcı ve bütünleştirici bakım uygulamaları hakkında bilgi sahibi olması ve değerlendirmesi önemlidir. Bu uygulamaların etkinlik, etkileşim, fayda ve risklerinin kanıta dayalı uygulamalarla belirlenerek eğitim programlarının geliştirilmesi ve hemşirelik uygulamalarına yansıtılması önerilmektedir.
Aim: This study was conducted to determine the nurses' knowledge and use of complementary and integrative practices. Methods: The universe of the descriptive study was 204 nurses, and the sample consisted of 141 nurses who met the inclusion criteria. The data were collected with a questionnaire consisting of three parts. Data analysis was performed using frequency, mean, standard deviation and chi-square tests. Results: According to the results of the study, 44% of nurses use complementary and integrative care practices. Herbal methods (22.7%), massage (15.6%) and vitamins (18.4%) are mostly used. 22% of the nurses use the practices to strengthen immunity and skin care, 50.4% find the method useful, 44.3% do not know the interaction with medical treatment, 59. 5% do not give information to healthcare professionals about the method they use. It was stated that participants did not receive formal (92.2%) or post-graduation (98.6%) training / courses, 67.4% required education, 74.5% asked questions from patients, 80.9% did not question patients used complementary and integrative care practices. There was no significant difference between application use and age, working time, education level and questioning in anamnesis (p> 0.05). When the difference between the clinic where the nurses work and the situation of questioning the practices was compared, it was determined that 51.9% of the nurses who questioned the practices were working in internal clinics (p <0.05). It is recommended that the effectiveness, interaction, benefits and risks of these practices are determined by evidence-based practices, and education programs are developed and reflected in nursing practices.
