Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı, acil serviste çalışan sağlık personelinin çalışan güvenliğine dair algılarını incelemektir. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipte olan araştırmanın evrenini, Konya il merkezi devlet ve üniversite hastaneleri acil servislerinde çalışan tüm sağlık çalışanları oluşturdu. Araştırmada örneklem seçimine gidilmemiş olup, üniversite ve devlet hastaneleri acil servislerinde çalışan ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 111 sağlık çalışanı araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturmuştur. Veriler, “çalışan güvenliği algısı anketi” ile toplandı. Etik kurul ve gerekli kurum izinleri alındı. Veriler bilgisayar ortamında yüzde ve frekans hesaplanarak değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Bulgulara göre katılımcıların %45.5’ inin delici kesici alet yaralanmaları, kan ve vücut sıvılarıyla temas durumunda yapılması gerekenlerle ilgili kendini yetersiz hissettiği saptanmıştır. Katılımcıların % 79.3’ ü çalışan güvenliğini tehdit eden durumların bir ya da daha fazlasına maruz kalmış, maruz kalanların % 40.9’ u durumu bildirmemiş ve nedenini % 63.9 oranında ‘’önemsemedim’’ olarak belirtmiştir. Sonuç: Çalışanların yetersiz personel sayısıyla çalıştıkları görüşüne daha yakın oldukları görülmektedir. Çalışanların psikolojilerine olumsuz yansıyan personel sayısı, ağır iş yükü gibi konularda düzenleme ve iyileştirmeler yapılmalı, güvenliği tehdit eden her bir durum için ayrı eğitim programı düzenlenmeli ve çalışan güvenliğine yöneticilerin de önem vermesini sağlayacak düzenlemeler yapılmalıdır.
Purpose: The purpose of the research is to examine the perceptions of healthcare staff working in emergency services on the safety of employees. Method: The universe of research, which is of a characteristic type, was formed by all health workers working in emergency services in the state and university hospitals of the central province of Konya. The study did not go to the sample selection and formed the sample of the study of 111 health workers who worked in emergency services in university and public hospitals and agreed to participate in the research. The data was collected with the "workers' safety perception survey". The ethical board and the necessary authorization of the institution were obtained. The data was assessed by calculating the percentage and frequency in the computer environment. Results: According to findings; 45% of participants. The 5' has been found that it feels insufficient about what should be done in case of fracturating instrument injuries, contact with blood and body fluids. 79.3% of participants were exposed to one or more of the situations that threatened the safety of employees, 40.9% of those exposed did not report the situation and 63.9% said the cause was "not important". The result: it seems that employees are closer to the opinion that they work with the insufficient number of staff. The number of staff that reflect negatively on the psychology of the employees, the heavy workload, and the improvements in issues such as the number of staff, the safety threatening situations, the separate training program for each situation, and the arrangements to ensure that managers also pay attention to the safety of the employees.
Objective: The object of the study is to review employee safety perceptions of healthcare personnel working in the emergency department. Method: Target population of this descriptive study consisted of all the healthcare professionals who work at emergency services of university and public hospitals in the city center of Konya. In the study, no sample was selected and 111 healthcare professionals who work at emergency services of university and public hospitals and accepted to participate in the study constituted the sample of the study. Data was collected by an “employee safety perception survey”. Ethics committee and the required institute approvals was obtained. The data was evaluated calculating the percentage and frequency in computer environment. Results: According to the findings, it was detected that 45.5% of the participants felt incompetent regarding how to react in the cases of sharp object injuries and contact with blood and body fluids. 79.3% of the participants exposed to one or more of the employee safety threatening situations, 40.9% of the exposed ones did not report the situation and 63.9% of them stated “I did not care” as the cause. Conclusion: It appears that employees were more likely to believe that they were working with insufficient staff. Arrangements and improvements should be made about issues that have an adverse effect on employees’ psychology such as personnel number, heavy workload, etc.; a distinct education program should be arranged for each safety-threatening situation; and regulations, which ensure also the directors to give importance to the employee safety, should be made.
