Abstract The main goal of this investigation was to understand that the challenges of the pedagogical practice of physical education teachers can be constituted in continuing education proposals and actions starting from the analysis of considerations about the reality emerged from school context. A semi-structured interview was used for data collection and thematic analysis for interpretation. This action unfolds considerations pointing out that PP is a fertile ground to subsidize continuing education actions, highlighting the need to consider working conditions, the specificities of school physical education, the reasoning and discussion around the objectives, planning and methodologies for pedagogical interventions, a process to be enhanced by collaborative formation actions among peers, observing the periodicity and articulation, systematizing programs considering and listening to the needs of teachers, a process that qualifies and enhances these moments, contributing to reframe the pedagogical practice itself and the teaching-learning process
