Amaç: Çalışmada, anne-bebek okulunun annelerin postpartum uyum süreçleri üzerindeki etkisini değerlendirmek ve annelerin memnuniyetlerini belirlemek amaçlandı. Yöntem: Çalışma İstanbul’da özel dal eğitim-araştırma hastanesinde yarı deneysel olarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini, hastanede doğum yapmış ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul etmiş 112 anne 62 kontrol, 50 çalışma çalışma grubu oluşturmuştur. Kontrol grubundaki annelere doğum sonrası dönemde servis içerisinde rutin eğitim verilirken, çalışma grubundaki annelere bebekleri ile birlikte yeni yapılandırılan anne-bebek okulunda uygulamalı bireysel ve grup eğitimleri verilmiştir. Çalışmada veri aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından annelerin gebelik öykülerini, doğum sonu döneme ait görüşlerini belirlemek için geliştirilen 25 soruluk veri formu ve Postpartum Kendini Değerlendirme Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS istatistik programı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Annelerin doğum sonrası dönemde aldıkları eğitim ve danışmanlığa yönelik memnuniyetleri değerlendirildiğinde çalışma grubundaki annelerin eğitim ve danışmanlığa yönelik memnuniyetlerinin kontrol grubundaki annelere oranla daha yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Annelerin doğum sonu uyumunun kontrol grubunda daha az olduğu, çalışma grubunda bulunan annelerin uyumlarının daha iyi olduğu, deney grubu annelerin doğum sonu sürece daha iyi adapte olduğu belirlenmiştir p
Objecive: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effect of a mother-infant school on mothers’ postpartum adaptation and to determine mothers’ satisfaction. Method: This quasi-experimental study was conducted at a private division maternity training-research hospital in Istanbul. The sample included 112 mothers 62 control, 50 experiment group who had delivery at the study hospital and who agreed to participate in the study. The control group received routine postpartum training within the unit, while the experiment group received applied individual and group training at the mother-infant school which was restructured and which included both mothers and infants. Data was collected using a 25-item questionnaire which was developed by the researchers in order to determine mothers’ pregnancy history and opinions on the postpartum period and the Postpartum Self-Evaluation Scale. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS. Results: Evaluation of mothers’ satisfaction regarding the training and counseling, the study group had better and significantly higher levels of satisfaction than controls. Mothers’ postpartum adaptation was lower in the control group found to be significantly different from of the study group. The study group better adapted to the postpartum period. p
