Abstract:

The study aims to identify the conditions of using the strategies of understanding that high school students read in print and digital environments and to reveal the relationship between them. The research was carried out according to the relative scan model from quantum methods. The sample of the study is composed of 204 students studying in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th classes at high school level. The sample is determined by random sample according to the voluntary principle. The research has found that high school students use strategies to understand that they read more in a digital environment. In addition, it has been seen that the strategies before and after reading are used in digital environments, and the strategies for reading order are used in print environments. In both print and digital environments, girls use more strategies than men, and, according to class level, they use a strategy in favour of 5th grade students. The conclusion is that between the level of use of the reading strategies in the print and digital environment there is a positive relationship.
