Abstract:

The Tourist Guide in the Anatolian Geography requires a multidisciplinary qualification while the archaeology and art history disciplines play a leading role among the relevant disciplines. The mythological knowledge that these two fields are feeding is another discipline that discerns the competence of the guide. In addition to the classical Greek and Roman mythology, the Turkish mythology also manifests itself in art and architectural works. In the understanding of Turkish art works, the mythological background takes an important task. The guidelines, according to the preparation levels of their groups, bring this background to the agenda is a positive contribution to the quality of the round implemented. Animal figures in Turkish art, which we can encounter with many different forms of art, offer a rich diversity that is most directly reflected by Turkish mythology. The dragon, siren, arshlan, bear, bear, wolf, bear, fish, etc. The animal figures are reflected in a symbolism in the source mythology in different art and architectural structures(s). In this study, guides will be subject to assessing the potential symbolic meanings that each person may possess by providing a mythological-based explanation of the animal figures they often encounter. As a result of the tour and observation, the critical and comparative study of these figures in the present literature constitutes the method of our work. As a result, it is important that the different animal figures found in Turkish art works can be interpreted at a symbolic level by the guides, taking into account the mythological background, and it is clear that not only the classical mythology, but also the Turkish mythology will be rich in the same value. Therefore, the need to address Turkish mythology in the curriculum in the guidance training is also recommended by taking into account.
