The sleep is one of base physiological necessity for physical and psychological health, and it affects life quality of individual. The sleep disorders are seen frequently during pregnancy. The sleep disorders like insomnia, parasomnia, sleep breathing disorders, restless leg syndrome, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome take part among problems that exist during pregnancy. The prevelance of sleep disorders that pregnants experience changes from %25 to %70. The most common reasons of sleep disorders are pregnancy remonstrance like thamuria, back pain, restless leg syndrome, fetal movements, acid reflux, snore, and growing abdomen and changing shape of body with the progress of pregnancy week. The useable methods to cope with sleep problems are dealing with stress, doing yoga, exercise, massage, awareness education, home visit, sleep hygiene education etc. Midwives that follow primary health pregnants must evaluate sleeping pattern and must support this with home visit. Both the information about importance of sleep and sleep impact to maternal and fetal health must be given to pregnants, and it must be looked for a solution when sleeping problem occurs. Systematic diseases that can cause to sleep disorder must be questioned and necessary guidance must be done. The sleep hygiene education must be given to pregnants and follow-up of pregnants must be provided.
