The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of the time of harvest on the composition of the Mary's shell, the production of gas, the production of methane, the metabolic energy and the degree of digestion of organic substance. According to the findings obtained in the study, the harvest time has significantly affected the composition of the maryamana bean, gas production, methane production, metabolic energy (ME) and organic substance digestive degree (OMSD). The raw material (KM), raw silk (HK), raw protein (HP), raw oil (HY), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF) content varied from 11.99% to 43.26, 12.68% to 16.56, 11.11% to 15.77, 2.47% to 5.86, 39.88% to 60.85% and 24.96% to 44.52. The production of gas and methane revealed as a result of the 24-hour fermentation of the Meryemana shell 26.36 to 40. It varies between 44 ml and 3.26 to 5.34 ml. The metabolic energy content and the digestive degree of the organic substance of the maryamana beef varied from 7.67 to 8.70 MJ kg/km and 48.87 to 64.40 per cent depending on the time of harvest. As a result, the time of harvest is an important factor on the nutritional value of the Mary's shell. With the progress of the harvest time, the nutritional value of the Mary's sheet has fallen especially in the HP content, ME and OMSD. According to the results of in vitro gas production values, it is believed that maryamana is an anti-metanogenic properties, so it is possible to use it to reduce enteric methane production in ruminants.
The aim of the current experiment was to determine the effect of harvesting stage on the chemical composition, gas production, methane production, metabolisable energy and organic matter digestibility of milk thistle. According to the findings, harvesting stage significantly affected the chemical composition, gas production, methane production, metabolisable energy and organic matter digestibility of milk thistle. Dry matter (DM), crude ash (CA), crude protein(CP), ether extract(EE), nötral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF) contents of milk thistle hay ranged from 11.99 to 43.26%, 12.68 to 16.56 %, 11.11 to 15.77 %, 2.47 to 5.86 %, 39.88 to 60.85% and 24.96 to 44.52% respectively. Gas production and methane production at 24 ranged from 26.36 to 40.44 ml and 3.26 to 5.34 ml respectively. Metabolisable energy and organic matter digestibility of milk thistle hay ranged from 7.67 to 8.70 MJ kg/KM and 48.87 to 64.40% respectively. As a conclusion, harvesting stage is an important factor on the nutritive value of milk thistle hay. Nutritive value especially crude protein, metabolisable energy and organic matter digestibility of milk thistle hay decreased with advancing maturity. Based on the in vitro gas production date, it was considered that milk thistle has a potential to mitigate the enteric methane production
