Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the trends related to the studies in the field of number sensation in Turkey by thematic content analysis. The research was carried out using the method of document analysis. In the framework of the research in Turkey between 2000-2018 years on number sensation (16 master's, 5 doctoral theses, 39 articles and 4 statements) a total of 64 studies have been studied with the method of thematic content analysis. Studies, type of publication, year, sample size, sample group, research method, based number sensory classification, data collection tool and analysis type, research subject and purpose, are studied in terms of number sensory components that students show high and low performance. The findings obtained are represented visually using frequency and percentage values. Research results in Turkey show that the research in the field of number sensation has increased since 2015; that the studies have been published more as articles, that the doctoral theses and reports have been less; that the studies have been conducted more with sample between 101-300 and that they have been studied with sample group of 8 or 6-8 classes; that the quantum research method and relative scan model have been used more and that Kayhan Altay (2010) preferred the number sensation classification. It is also found that as a data collection tool, open-end and already-selective tests are often used together, the research is mainly focused on determining the overall number sensory ability and the study of number sensory components.
