This research was conducted to determine the writing level of self-efficacy of eighth grade secondary school students. The universe of research with survey model was eighth grade students studying in secondary school in Malatya. And the sample of the study constituted two hundred and fifty 2014-2015 academic year students studying eighth grade students studying in six secondary schools in Malatya. The research data collected by using "Writing Self-Efficacy Scale" which is prepared by Şengül (2011). The data obtained in this study was analyzed by SPSS program. To evaluate the data the descriptive statistical methods (Number, Percentage, mean, standard deviation, etc.) were used. The difference between the two groups for comparison of quantitative data were analyzed by t-test. The findings were evaluated at the 95% confidence interval and 5% significance level. According to the results obtained from this research, students were found to be adequate levels of self-efficacy. In the context of gender self-efficacy levels; levels of self-efficacy in the mentioned size of girls, in writing awareness, general progress and personal progress dimension were determined to have higher than boys. And also it has been observed that there is no difference between girls and boys at the level of self-efficacy perception of the size of the writing psychology.
