The purpose of this study is to investigate the reliability of the search results listed on the first page of Google search engine. In the study, the definition of search engines, their history, the reasons for their existence and their functions are explained. After Google's brief history, the differences between Google and the competitive search engines are examined. In the Google's search algorithm, how search results are influenced by the selection of words in the search box, how and when sites are indexed and how often they are included have been explained. After a short definition of the concept "reliable result” a few keywords in the context of Public Relations are selected to actually search on Google to analyze the reliability of Google search results
