Bu çalışmanın amacı, özel okul yöneticilerinin yetenek yönetimine ilişkin görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak yürütülen araştırma durum desenindedir. Araştırma, 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında Ankara’da maksimum çeşitlilik örneklem yöntemi ile seçilen 23 özel lise yöneticisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada yarı yapılandıırlmış görüşme formu ve içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada yöneticiler öğrenci başarısı, veli beklentileri, rekabet edebilme ve teknolojinin önemi, maddi ve fiziki imkânlar, okul iklimi, kurum kültürünün önemi, ücret politikası ve kariyer olanakları konusunda görüş bildirmişlerdir. Ayrıca, araştırma sonunda yeteneğin doğru tespitinde sorunlar yaşandığı, öğretmenlerin gelişimi için mentörlük, elektronik öğrenme, oryantasyon gibi faaliyetlerin uygulanmadığı, objektif kriterlere dayalı performans değerlendirme sisteminin olmadığı ve geleceğe yönelik yetenek belirleme ve liderlik geliştirme faaliyetlerinden bahsedilmediği ortaya konmuştur. Araştırma sonunda eğitim kurumlarının yönetim stratejilerinin yetenek yönetimi anlayışı ile oluşturulabileceği, okul yöneticilerinin yetenek yönetimi uygulamalarını geliştirecek eğitimlere yer verilebileceği, yetenekli öğretmenleri çekmek için okulların çeşitli çekme kanalları kullanabilecekleri ortaya konmuştur.
The aim of this study is to study the views of private school managers on talent management. The quality of the research method is conducted using the research pattern. The research was carried out with 23 private high school managers selected with the maximum variety sampling method in Ankara in the 2017-2018 educational year. The study used a semi-configured interview form and content analysis. In the study, managers expressed their views on student success, guardian expectations, competitiveness and the importance of technology, material and physical possibilities, school climate, the importance of institutional culture, wage policy and career opportunities. In addition, the research has found that there are problems in the correct identification of skills at the end, there are no activities such as mentoring, electronic learning, orientation for the development of teachers, there is no system of performance assessment based on objective criteria and there is no mention of future skills determination and leadership development activities. In the end, the research found that educational institutions can create management strategies with the understanding of talent management, that school managers can be included in training that will develop talent management practices, that schools can use various drawing channels to attract talented teachers.
The aim of this study is to examine the private school administrators’ views on talent management. 23 private high school administrators in Ankara in 2017-2018 academic year were selected by maximum diversity sampling method. Case study was used in this qualitative research. Data were collected using semi-structured interview form. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the data. Administrators mentioned student achievement, parents’ expectations, the importance of competition, the use of information technologies, material and physical opportunities, school climate, the importance of corporate culture, wage policy and career opportunities. It was revealed that there were problems in the correct determination of talent, mentorship, electronic learning, orientation, performance evaluation system based on objective criteria and leadership development activities for the future. Management strategies of educational institutions can be formed with talent management approach, trainings that will improve the talent management practices of school administrators can be used, and schools can use various channels to attract talented teachers.
