Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı öğrencilerin çocuk sevme durumları ile akademik başarıları arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi ve üçüncü ve dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin çocuk sevme durumlarının karşılaştırılmasıdır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı olarak planlanan bu çalışmada bir devlet üniversitesinin Hemşirelik Bölümü’nde eğitim almakta olan ve çalışmaya katılmaya gönüllü 48 dördüncü sınıf ve 55 üçüncü sınıf öğrencisinden Birey Tanıtım Formu ve Çocuk Sevme Ölçeği kullanılarak anket yöntemi aracılığıyla veri toplanmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan üçüncü sınıfta öğrenim gören öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 22±1,27’dir. Öğrencilerin %78,2’si kadın olup, %89,1’inin kardeşi bulunmaktadır. Dördüncü sınıfta öğrenim gören öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 20,56±0,87’dır ve %89,6’sı kadın olup, %93,8’i kardeş sahibi olduğunu ifade etmiştir. Üçüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin akademik başarı ortalamaması dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerine göre daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Üçüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin çocuk sevme toplam ölçek puanı ortalaması 68,60±7,90; dördüncü sınıf çocuk sevme toplam ölçek puanı ortalaması 88±9,10 olarak bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Sonuç olarak, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin çocuk sevme düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu ve hemşirelik öğrencilerinin yaşı arttıkça çocuk sevme düzeylerinin azaldığı bulunmuştur. Çocuklarla etkileşimin sağlıklı olarak sürdürülebilmesi ve geleceğin hemşireleri öğrencilerin çocuk sevme düzeylerinin çalıştıkları kliniklerdeki verimlerine etkisi ile ilgili farkındalıklarını arttırmak için eğitim programları planlanabilir. Abstract Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between students’ liking of children and their academic achievement and to compare the likelihood of third and fourth grade students. Material and Method: In this descriptive study, data were collected through the questionnaire method using the Demographic Data Collection Form” and “Barnett Liking of Children Scale” from 48 fourth grade and 155 third grade volunteered student nurses who were educated in the Nursing Department of a state university. Results: The mean age of the third grade students was 22.00 ± 1.27, 78.2% of them were female and 89.1% of them had siblings. The mean age of the fourth grade students was 20.56 ± 0.87, 89.6% of them was female and 93.8% of them had siblings. The academic achievement average of third-grade students was higher than fourth-grade students The avarage Liking of Children Scale score of the third grade students’ was 68.60 ± 7.90; and the avarage Liking of Children Scale score of the forth grade students was 88.00 ± 9.10. Conclusion: As a result, it was found that the child-liking levels of nursing students were high and the child liking levels of nursing students decreased as the age of nursing students increased. Training programs can be planned to improve the health of interaction with children and to increase the awareness of future nurses about the impact of child-liking levels on their productivity in the clinics they work in. Purpose: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between students’ child-loving situations and academic achievements, and to compare third and fourth-class students’ child-loving situations. Tools and Methods: In this study, which is planned to identify, data from 48 fourth-class and 55 third-class students who are studying at the Department of Nursing of a state university and who are volunteer to participate in the study were collected through the survey method using the Individual Promotion Form and the Child Love Scale. Results: The average age of students studying in the third class participating in the study is 22±1,27. 78.2% of students are women and 89.1% have brothers. The average age of students studying in the fourth class is 20,56±0,87 and 89.6% are women and 93.8% are brothers and sisters. The average academic success rate of third-class students was higher than the average of fourth-class students. The average scale score of children's love of third class students was 68.60±7.90; the average scale score of children's love of fourth class was 88±9.10. Result: As a result, the nursing students have a high level of child-loving and the nursing students have a lower level of child-loving with the age. Training programs can be planned to maintain healthy interaction with children and increase awareness of the impact of future nurses in children’s loving levels on their outcomes in clinics where they work.
