The theory which Harold Bloom, one of the modern American poetry critics, brings a different perspective to the poem with his book named “The Anxiety of Influence” offers the opportunity to examine the relationship between the poets affected by each other in different way. This theory of poetry is based on the Oedipus Complex between successor-predecessor poets. According to Bloom, while a poet is raising, influenced by another poet and passes through six stages, which he calls his name from the antique period and which he calls the revision. These stages show how the predecessor created his successor and the stages which the successor gained perfection. When Turkish Literature is examined, it is seen that Iranian Literature is at the top of the sources that we feed our literature, and it is understood that our Divan Literature poets were influenced to a great extent by the great masters of Iranian Literature during the period of young poetship. Fuzûlî, who is one of the leading names of Turkish Literature, was influenced by Hâfız, the great ghazal master of Iranian Literature, he took him as an example but he offered the best examples of Turkish poetry on his own understanding of art and so he has come to a very important place in our history of literature. In this context, by moving from Harold Bloom’s book, named “The Anxiety of Influence”, Fuzûlî saw Hâfız as his predecessor, created his own poems under the influence of Hâfız and then brought a completely new and fresh breath to his own poems with his identity. In this study, Fuzûlî and Hâfız were taken into consideration in the frame of succesor-predecessor based on six revisions in Bloom's work, named “The Anxiety of Influence” theory. Relationship of Fuzûlî and Hâfız examined with a focus on the theory of “The Anxiety of Influence”.
