Abstract:

Today, as a result of the shifts in social, cultural and family life with globalization, the demands and needs of people have also been modified. Owing to the reasons such as changes in lifestyle, shrinkage in the family, individualization and single-person living style, there has been a spatial reduction in residences. Accordingly, the production of 'studio-type' houses, the most widely used among the small house typologies built as 1+0, 1+1, 2+1 today, has increased. The purpose of this study is to specify the satisfaction or complaints, if any, of the indoor fixed equipment elements (cloakroom, kitchen cabinet, bathroom cabinet and wardrobe) designed collectively in studio apartments with the same architectural features, regarding the storage capacities of these interior equipment elements by the small housing users. The assumption in the study is that the storage capacity of small residential indoor fixed equipment will differ according to the size of the housing type. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to 259 small house users in a studio-type house in Selçuklu district of Konya. As a result of the research, it has been indicated that the residents living in 2+1 and 2+1 duplex flats are more satisfied with the storage capacity of the indoor fixed equipment compared to other users, and it has been noticed that the change in the number of individuals in the house does not affect the satisfaction of the storage capacity. In addition, the aesthetic and ergonomic evaluation of fixed reinforcement elements by the users has also been specified as a remarkable feature.
