The objectives and tasks of pre-school education include ensuring children’s physical, mental, emotional and social development. One of the practices that have contributed significantly to the child’s diverse development in the pre-school period is art activities. Before school, art events create efficient environments in which children can express themselves, understand the world, meet their spiritual needs, and discover themselves. The role of the pre-school teachers in the preparation of these environments is also great. It is important that teachers act consciously, planned and programmedly. This study first emphasized the importance of pre-school art education and tried to determine what the views of pre-school teachers on visual art activities are. The work is based on research techniques. The study included 23 pre-school teachers who worked in the center of Malatya during the 2019-2020 educational year. Half-configured conversations were held with teachers. The data obtained from the interviews is interpreted by quality data analysis. According to the research data, most teachers have received art training courses during their bachelor’s training but they do not find these courses sufficient; they find art activities important in the pre-school period and frequently participate in art works in their classes, but most do not use prepared paint books in their classes, although they do not use the most cutting-cutting (colage) works as art activities or photocopies or text pages in the paint activities; they think that the paint works of children free of charge, without subject or material limitation, are the most creative works in their works, and they often use the method of painting in their works. As a result, it is understood that in the pre-school period, the children should be given the opportunity to express themselves, to explore their surroundings, to prepare the environment for the development of aesthetic sensation and creativity, to diversify the methods and techniques used and to allow students to make preferences in terms of subject, material and process.
