The aim of this study was to determine the risk factors influencing dependency and levels of dependent in activities of daily living of 65 years and affecting factors. Data were collected by socio-demographic question form, Katz Index of Activities of Daily Living and Lawton and Brody’s instrumental Index of Activities of Daily Living. Data were analyzed by percentage, mean, Mann Whitney-U test, Spearman Corelation analyses, and Kruskal Wallis test. The average age of the patients was 73.0 ± 6.1 years. Female patients were 56 % and 44% patients were male. Activities of Daily Living scores of female had higher than man. (p< 0.001).Katz index of activities of daily living’s mean score was15.2 ± 4.0 and index of instrumental activities of daily living’s mean score was 18.3 ± 5.4. Dependency levels of patients with activities of daily living activities and instrumental activities of daily living was increasing with age. Female’s activities of daily living had better than men. Activities of daily living dependency levels of people increased with age. The individual at the level of the daily life activities are expected to contribute to the improvement when nurses consider to the individuals age who receiving treatment in hospital due to chronic health problems while taking care.
