Abstract:

This study, which aims to determine the relationship between distributive leadership and perceived organizational support, was designed with a predictive correlational model from quantitative research methods. Stratified sampling method was used to determine the sample of the study. In this context, official kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and high schools in Nizip district of Gaziantep province were determined as strata and 482 teachers working in these schools were included in the sample. In order to collect the research data, a data collection tool consisting of three parts: "Personal Information Form", "Distributive Leadership Scale" and "Perceived Organizational Support Scale" was used. While analyzing the data, arithmetic mean and standard deviation were used for descriptive statistical analysis; Pearson product moment correlation coefficient analysis, simple and hierarchical regression analysis were used for relational analysis. According to the findings of the study, teachers' perceptions of principals' distributive leadership skills and perceived organizational support were found to be high. On the other hand, it was determined that there was a high positive relationship between distributive leadership and perceived organizational support. It was determined that distributive leadership is a significant positive predictor of perceived organizational support and 74% of perceived organizational support can be explained by distributive leadership. According to the results obtained from the research, it can be said that teachers who take part in leadership roles and responsibilities in a school where distributive leadership is dominant can feel valuable in the organization and their perception of organizational support can increase in this way.
