Objective: The study was performed for investigation of mothers’ having children at the age of 0-6 knowledge and practice of fever and febrile convulsion. Method: The study was conducted among 146 mothers having hospitalized children at age of 0-6 between the dates December 2011 – January 2012. Data were obtained using a questionnaire form with 38 questions. Percentage distribution and chi-square test were used for statistical analysis. Findings: It was found that 41.8% of the mothers were between 26-35 years of age, 40.4% of them were graduated from primary school and 62.3% of them were house wife. 56.2% of the mothers defined fever as body temperature above 38OC. In the case of fever 28.0% of the mothers put off their children’s clothes as a measure first, 17.0% of them refreshed air of the room, 9.0% of them rub body of child using cologne, rose-water, and 63.7% of them told they had not known up to which age febrile seizure might occur in children. A statistically significant difference was determined between educational status and having thermometer at home and knowing how to use it (p<0.05). Conclusions: It was observed that mothers who have got children at age of 0-6 had inadequate knowledge and practice about fever and febril covulsion.
