The XIX. The end of the century and XX. At the beginning of the century, the process of collapse of the Ottoman Empire had a negative impact on the educational system, as it was in every field. Although the efforts to modernize the education have been put on in this period, the work has remained in the middle. The problem of education and education has been one of the most important problems reflected from empire to national state. In this framework, the Muğla people, which had a low education level and an outside closed structure before the proclamation of the Republic, managed to break this structure by putting the national and secular education policy of the new Republic of Turkey into practice. In the field of day-to-day education, the state’s attempt to solve the problem of teaching through education and rural institutions has also brought a vitality to Muğla education; until the 1950s, the rate of schooling has rapidly increased in primary, partially secondary education. In the field of public education, the state has opened its National Messages and People's Covenants in order to rapidly increase the reading and writing rate and to spread and adopt national culture and awareness of being a nation. Although the Muğla National Mektepleri and Halkevi, as in the whole country, are beneficial with the breakthrough they have enthusiastically launched, they have lost their activity over the years.
