Bu çalışmada, Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TÜİK) 2016 Yaşam Memnuniyeti Anketi (YMA) verilerinden faydalanılarak, bireylerin mutluluk düzeylerini etkileyen faktörlerin tespit edilmesi ve veri setine en uygun sıralı lojistik modelin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bağımlı değişken “mutluluk düzeyleri” olarak seçilirken, 5 kategorili olan bağımlı değişkenin “çok mutlu” ve “çok mutsuz” düzeylerinin az sayıda tercih edilmesi sebebi ile kategori birleştirmesi yapılmıştır. Mutluluk üzerinde etkili olabilecek birçok değişkene Ki-kare bağımsızlık testi uygulanmıştır. Yapılan Ki-kare bağımsızlık testi sonucuna göre mutluluk üzerinde etkili 16 faktör, bağımsız değişken olarak belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen faktörlerin mutluluk üzerindeki etkisi, sıralı lojistik regresyon modeli ile tahmin edilmeden önce paralel doğrular varsayımı test edilmiştir. Paralel doğrular varsayımı sağlanamadığı için kurulan model, Genelleştirilmiş Sıralı Lojistik Model ile tahmin edilmiştir. Analiz sonucuna göre bazı bağımsız değişkenlerin paralel doğrular varsayımını sağladığı, bazılarının sağlamadığı belirlenmiştir. Bireylerin eğitim düzeyinin artmasının, yüksek lisans düzeyi hariç, mutluluğu arttırıcı yönde etkisinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Gelecekten çok umutlu olan bireylerin, daha mutlu olduğu sonucu ortaya konmuştur. Gelirden memnuniyet, sağlıktan memnuniyet gibi faktörlerin mutluluk üzerine etkisinin benzer olduğu görülmüştür. Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu’na kayıtlı olan bireylerin, bu kuruma hiç kaydı olmayan bireylere göre daha mutlu olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bireylerin aldığı kamu hizmetlerinden memnuniyet düzeylerinin de mutluluk düzeyleri üzerinde etkisinin olduğu belirlenmiştir.
In this study, it’s aimed to determine the factors affecting the level of happiness of the individuals by Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) 2016 Life Satisfaction Survey (LSS) data and determine to appropriate logit model for the data set. “Happiness levels” have been selected as dependent variable, category merging has been made due to the fact that the “very happy” and “very unhappy” levels of the 5-categorized dependent variable were preferred in small numbers. Chi-square independence test has been applied to many variables that could affect happiness. 16 factors affecting happiness were determined as independent variables according to the results of the Chi-square test. Before predicting the effect of the obtained factors on happiness with the ordered logistic regression model, the assumption of parallel lines tested. Since the parallel lines assumption is not hold, the model established estimated with the Generalized Ordered Logistic Model. According to the analysis result; it has been determined that some independent variables provide the assumption of parallel lines, some do not. It has been determined that the increasing the education level of individuals has a positive effect on happiness except master degree. It has been revealed that individuals who are more hopeful about the future are happier. It has been observed that the effects of factors such as income satisfaction and health satisfaction on happiness are similar. It has been determined that individuals registered with the Social Security Institution are happier than those who have never been registered with this institution. Also, it has been revealed that public services satisfaction that individuals receive have an effect on their level of happiness.
