Abstract:

In general, musıc education in the Ottoman Empire was given in some institutions until the Tanzimat, in an institutional nature. These institutions are respectively; Enderun School, Mehterhâne, Mevlevihanes. Music education fort he public was carried out only in private meşkhanes for many centuries. All schools were connected to the Educational Organization, which started to be established after the Tanzimat. Connected to the Educational Organization; his musical education continued in various institutions such as primary school, rüşdiyye, idâdî, sultani, dârülmaârif, darülfünun and military schools. In this article, there is an evaluation of Halil Bedi Yonken, one of the educational scientists of the Republican Era, through the Latinization of the work titled "Ginânin Usûlü Tedrisi", which was written in Ottoman Turkish and was published by Milli Matbaa in 1927. The work contains information that will shed light on the present day in terms of musical education and teaching techniques, such as the issues to be considered while giving musical education to children, the approach of music teachers to students. In the article, which includes the basic features of the work and the period, it is tried to be brought to today's music education.
