Depremler geniş bir coğrafyada nüfusun büyük çoğunluğunun etkilendiği, tıbbi, ekonomik ve toplumsal sonuçları olan, önlenemeyen doğal bir afettir. Türkiye’de 06.02.2023 tarihinde 11 ilde, yaklaşık 15 milyon vatandaşımızı etkileyen deprem, yüzyılın en büyük iki depremi arasında yer almaktadır. Depremde sağ kalanların bir kısmı bedenen yaralansa da çoğunluğu psikolojik olarak yaralanmaktadır. Deprem gibi olağandışı durumlar, geçici olarak gelişen akut stres bozukluğu veya ömür boyu sürebilecek travma sonrası stres bozukluğu, depresyon, çeşitli anksiyete bozuklukları gibi birçok ruhsal bozukluğun nedeni olabilmektedir. Deprem sonucu gelişen travma sonrası stres bozukluğu, travmatik bir olaya maruz kaldıktan sonra ortaya çıkan, bireyde anksiyete, sıkıntıya dayanamama ve çaresizlik tepkilerine neden olan ruhsal bir bozukluktur. Travmatik olaylar bireyin yaşam bütünlüğünü tehdit eden olaylar olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Travma nedeniyle beden algısı ile zihin ve beden dengesi bozulabilmektedir. Bu nedenle bireyleri beden ile zihin etkileşimini iyileştirmenin özellikle böyle bir süreçte önemli bir gereklilik olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu doğrultuda fiziksel ve duygusal dengeyi arttırmayı amaçlayan temel beden farkındalık terapisinin önemli bir alternatif yöntem olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bu derlemede, deprem sonucu gelişen travma sonrası stres bozukluğunun yönetiminde temel beden farkındalık terapisi, uygulama yöntemleri ve sonuçları hakkında bilgi verilmesi amaçlanmıştır.
Earthquakes are an unavoidable natural disaster that affects a large population in a wide geography and has medical, economic and social consequences. The earthquake that affected approximately 15 million citizens in Turkey in 11 provinces on 06.02.2023 was among the two biggest earthquakes of the century. Although some of the survivors of the earthquake are injured physically, majority of them are psychologically. Unusual situations such as earthquakes can be the cause of many mental disorders such as temporary acute stress disorder or life-long post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and various anxiety disorders. Post-traumatic stress disorder that develops as a result of an earthquake is a mental disorder that occurs after exposure to a traumatic event and causes reactions of anxiety, distress tolerance and helplessness in the individual. Traumatic events are defined as events that threaten the integrity of an individual's life. The perception of the body may be impaired due to trauma and the balance of mind and body may be disturbed. Therefore, it is thought that improving the interaction of the body and the mind is an important necessity, especially in such a process. In this direction, it is thought that basic body awareness therapy, which aims to increase physical and emotional balance, is an important alternative method. In this review, it is aimed to give information about basic body awareness therapy in the management of post-traumatic stress disorder developed as a result of earthquake, with its application methods and results.
