Abstract:

The Ottoman State, which was defeated from World War I, was forced to sign the Mondros Treaty on October 30, 1918. After the signing of the agreement, an provisional rehavet was given to the end of the war throughout Anadolu. As in all the nations that form the state, a peaceful atmosphere has been created to guarantee their freedoms in relation to the conflict. But the disintegration of this atmosphere did not take too long, and the 15th of May 1919, with the occupation of the Greeks of İzmir, the struggles in the name of the National Struggle gained an impulse. During the period from Mondros Mutarekesi to the occupation of Izmir, the events in Izmir have not been much investigated by historians. From this point of view, the assurance report written by the İzmir Security Inspector on April 1919 filled an important emptiness. The report, which is grateful for the three main sections, listed the findings on social mobilities, the attitudes of the Roms and the recommendations to be made for the supply of the asset. According to this report obtained from the Ottoman Archive, it was found that the Izmir Rums prepared for occupation ground.
