Works which is called Selimnâme, mention the period of Ottoman sultans Yavuz Sultan Selim and II. Selim. Usually prose and poetry as two seperate types or together; they were written in three languages: Turkish, Persian and Arabic. These works which have an important place both historical and literary, usually starts from Yavuz Sultan Selim’s prince days, the struggle between his brothers, inherit the throne, Safevî - Memlük wars and ends with his death. This work is produced from the PhD thesis which we prepared by the name of Kadızâde's Gazavât-ı Sultan Selim Han (Text - Review). In this work, firstly informations are given about the life of Kadızâde who is the author of Selimnâme and then Yavuz Sultan Selim's related on the Egyptian expedition of prose and verse in a mixed type work. Afterwards Kadızâde who participated in the expedition together with the sultan as a poet and expressed his feelings during the expedition, his some of the poems were examined and translated into Turkish.
