Amaç: Bu çalışma Sağlık Yüksekokulu öğrencilerinde depresyon ve benlik saygısı düzeyleri ve etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipteki çalışma Aralık 2013-Ocak 2014 tarihleri arasında yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın örneklemini araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 563 kişi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmaya alınan bireylere uygulanan anket formu kişisel bilgi formu, Beck Depresyon ve Coopersmith Benlik Saygısı Ölçeklerinden oluşmaktadır. Bulgular: Araştırma grubunun %84.4’ü kız, %68.7’si hemşirelik, %31.3’ü ebelik bölümü öğrencisi olup ortalama yaş 20.11±1.86’dır. Öğrencilerin, %69.3’ünün geliri giderine eşit, %8.9’u çalışmakta, %13.7’si sigara içmekte, içenlerin %96.6’sı bir yıldan az bir süre önce sigaraya başladığını, %10.1’i alkol kullandığını ve %11.0’ı ailesinde depresyon olduğunu belirtmiştir. Araştırma grubunun %17.1’inde depresyon olup Beck depresyon ölçeği puan ortanca değeri 8.0 (min:0, maks:49.0); Coopersmith benlik saygısı ölçeği ortanca değeri 70.0 (min:22, maks:97)’dir. Kızlarda erkeklere göre, geliri giderinden az olanlarda, göç edenlerde göç etmeyenlere göre, ailesi parçalananlarda çekirdek/geniş ailesi olanlara göre, kronik hastalığı olanlarda olmayanlara göre sigara içenlerde içmeyenlere göre alkol kullananlarda kullanmayanlara göre, hemşirelik öğrencilerinde ebelik öğrencilerine göre ailesinde depresyon olanlarda ailesinde depresyon olmayanlara göre depresyon görülme sıklığı anlamlı düzeyde daha yüksektir (p˂0.05). Benlik saygısı ölçek puanı kızlarda erkeklere göre, ebelik bölümü öğrencilerinde hemşirelik bölümü öğrencilerine göre, geliri giderine eşit olanlarda geliri giderinden az olanlara göre, göç etmeyenlerde göç edenlere göre anlamlı olarak yüksektir (p˂0.05). Benlik saygısı ve Beck depresyon ölçek puanları arasında negatif yönde orta düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki vardır (r=-0.424, p=0.001). Sonuç: Bu çalışma sonucunda araştırma grubunda depresyon sıklığı yüksek bulunmuştur. Benlik saygısı puanı arttıkça depresyon sıklığının azaldığı görülmüştür.
Purpose: This study was conducted in order to determine the levels of depression and self-respect and the influential factors in the High School of Health. Tools and Methods: Detection and Cutting Types work was carried out between December 2013-January 2014. The sample of the study was made by 563 people who agreed to participate in the study. The survey form applied to the individuals involved in the study consists of personal information form, Beck Depression and Coopersmith Self-respect scales. Results: 84.4 percent of the research group are girls, 68.7 percent are nursing, 31.3 percent are abortion students and the average age is 20.11±1.86. 69.3 percent of students were equal to income expenditure, 8.9 percent were working, 13.7 percent smoking, 96.6 percent of drinkers started smoking less than a year ago, 10. One said he was drunk and 11.0 percent said he had depression in his family. In the study group, 17.1 per cent of people were depressed and Beck’s depression scale was 8.0 (min:0, max:49.0); Coopersmith’s self-esteem scale was 70.0 (min:22, max:97) In girls, compared to men, those who have less income expenditure, those who do not immigrate, those who have a core/bread family in their families, those who have no chronic illness, those who do not smoke, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink, those who do not drink. The scale score of self-righteousness in girls compared to men, the scale score of nursing in adulthood department students compared to students, the scale score of nursing in non-immigrants compared to those who are less than income expenditure in those who are equal to income expenditure, the scale score of nursing is significantly higher compared to those who are immigrants (July0.05). There is a meaningful relationship between self-respect and Beck depression scale points in the negative direction (r=-0.424, p=0.001). Result: This study found a high frequency of depression in the research group. As the self-esteem score increases, the frequency of depression decreases.
