Sınıf içi algılanan destek, sınıf iklimin en önemli unsurlarından biridir ve bulundukları ortam öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını, psikolojik sağlıklarını ve stres yönetimini etkileyebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı fen bilimleri dersinde öğrencilerin algılıkları desteğin akademik başarıyla ilişkisini ve desteğe cinsiyetin etkisini incelemektir. Çalışmaya Ege bölgesi Denizli ilinde öğrenim gören 292 sekizinci sınıf öğrenciler katılmıştır. Çalışmada öğrencilerin algılıkları destek akademik ve kişisel olmak üzere aile, sınıf arkadaşı ve öğretmen olarak destek algıları ölçen ölçme aracı kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel analizler, Pearson korelasyon katsayısı ve t-testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları öğrencilerin en çok desteği ailelerinden aldıklarını belirtirken en az desteği ise sınıf arkadaşlarından aldıklarını belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca kız ve erkek öğrenciler arasında sınıf arkadaşından alınan destek alt-boyutlarında erkekler lehine istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Akademik başarıyla ilişkisi incelendiğinde bu çalışma bulguları tüm destek türlerinin öğrencilerinin akademik başarıyla ilişkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca akademik başarıyla en çok ilişkili destek öğrencilerin öğretmenden aldıkları destek olduğu bulunmuştur. Bu çalışmanın sonuçları öğrencilere daha fazla yardımlaşmalarını gerektirecek öğretim yöntem ve tekniklerin sınıftaki desteği arttırabileceği ve sonra akademik başarıyı artırabileceğini önermektedir.
In-class support is one of the key elements of class climate and the environment they are in can affect student academic achievements, psychological health and stress management. The aim of this study is to study the relationship between the perceptions of the students in the course of science and the influence of gender on the support of academic success. The study was attended by 292 eighth-class students who studied in the Ege region of Denizli province. The study used a measuring tool to measure the perceptions of support as a family, classmate and teacher, as well as academic and personal, supporting students' perceptions. In the analysis of the data, visual analyses, Pearson correlation ratio and t-test were used. Research findings show that students receive a lot of support from their families, while support from their classmates is determined. Also, the statistically significant differences between girls and boys students in the sub-dimensions of support received from their classmates have been found in favour of men. When the relationship with academic success is studied, these study findings have shown that all types of support are associated with student academic success. It has also been found that the academic success is a lot related support that students receive from the teacher. The results of this study suggest that teaching methods and techniques that will require more help to students can increase the support in the classroom and then increase academic success.
Perceived support in the classroom is one of the most important elements of the classroom climate that may affect students' academic success, psychological health and stress management. The aim of this study is to examine the relations between perceived support and academic achievement in science classrooms. 292 eighth grade students in Denizli Province in Turkey participated in the study. Perceived supports were measured as both personal and academic from family, teachers and classmates. Descriptive analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient and t-test were used to analyze the data. While the findings indicated that the students received the most support from their families, they received the least support from their classmates. In addition, a statistically significant difference was found between male and female students in support from their classmates in favor of men. Regarding the relationship between academic achievement and support, findings showed that all support types were related to academic achievement. In addition, teacher academic support had the strongest relation to academic achievement. This study suggest that teaching methods and techniques that require students to help each other more can increase support in the classroom and then increase academic success.
