Abstract:

Man is born in a certain environment and the first language he learns from that environment becomes his mother tongue. But many people use other languages in addition to their native language. Many languages, which are a result of multi-culturality, are also seen in Turkey. Two-language students usually learn Turkish, which is the second language for them at school. These students also need to develop their language skills in order to be successful in their courses and to express themselves, like other students. The aim of this study is to reveal their opinions about the ability of two-language students to summarize. For this purpose, 10 subjects of semi-configured interview form are prepared. There are two kinds of teachers who have been taught in two languages, and there are two kinds of teachers who have been taught in two languages, and there are two kinds of teachers who have been taught in two languages. There are 20 students in the classroom. The research results have reached opinions about the ability of two-language students to summarize. Some of the students’ opinions were quoted directly in the findings section. The student's information about the summary before this study is to write what remains in mind, to follow the writing rules and to correctly use the pointing signs. But as a result of the study, the knowledge and opinions of the majority of students about the summary have changed.
